Meet our clinic staff

FAMILY PHYSICIANS

Providing comprehensive health care for your family. We pride ourselves on being patient-centric and try and deal with each patient as if they were our own family. Having been operating for more than 30 years, we have built up a reputation of being caring and empathetic, and enjoy being part of the close-knit community of Waterfall and surrounds.

We have seen newly borns growing up to have young families of their own and enjoy the long-standing relationships we have with our patients.

DR SEAN DUFFEY

FAMILY PHYSICIAN MB BCh (Wits), FCFP (SA)

Dr Duffey is fully accredited to assess and treat Sleep Apnea.

He is passionate about providing preventative care and health education to his patients.

Dr DAVID CUMMING

FAMILY PHYSICIAN MB BCh (Wits)

Dr Dave Cumming is a Wits graduate and has been a GP for 17 years.

He enjoys all aspects of Family Medicine, but has a special interest in ADHD Management and in Diabetes, and is a part of the CDE Network.

Dr HEIDI DUVEL

FAMILY PHYSICIAN MB ChB (Pret.)

I enjoy all aspects of family practice, but being a mom of two, I have a soft spot for the kiddies that I see. I love being part of this community and making my patients healthier and happier.

I obtained my medical degree at the University of Pretoria. After completing my internship and community service at McCord and Hlabisa Hospitals, we moved to Cape Town where I was a medical officer at Red Cross Children’s Hospital and Groote Schuur Neonatal Unit. Once back in KZN, I started working at Linkhills Medical Centre in 2015.

Dr BERNHA VAN DER MERWE

FAMILY PHYSICIAN MB BCh (Stell.)

I'm Dr. van der Merwe, an enthusiastic general practitioner who loves taking care of families.

My interests cover a wide range of medical needs, but I have a special interest in women's health and weight loss. I'm here to provide empathetic support and evidence-based guidance, whether it's routine check-ups or embarking on a healthier lifestyle. Your well-being is my priority, and I'm excited to partner with you on your health journey.

I graduated from Stellenbosch University in 2016, did my internship at King Edward Hospital and finished my journey in the public sector at Inanda C community health centre. The next few years I worked as a general practitioner at Medicross in the Bluff before finding our forever house in Assagay. I’ve been part of the Link Hills family since February 2023 and plan on making this my home.

Caro is a registered Nursing Sister (General Nursing, Community, Psychiatry and Midwifery) who has 30 years experience of which the last 20 years being at Link Hills Medical Centre.

SANDI HOLDEN

NURSING SISTER

Sandi trained at the JHB General Hospital in the 80's in General Nursing and has been enjoying working at Link Hills Medical Centre since August 2018.

Mandy Swain has 26 years of experience, her hobbies include baking and reading.
